Gold Fill and bronze

Circa 1880-1910

Necklace has 18'' chain
Pendant is 1'' x 3/4''

This beautiful little layering pendant is from one of our favorite decorative movements, the Egyptian Revival period. This carved metal charm is a profile of an Egyptian lady. She has such attention to detail, her headdress is topped by a serpent, and you can even make out her little earrings. She is encircled by cut out stylized lotus flowers. Such organic details in the piece probably dates her towards the later end of the movement; closer to Art Noveau around 1910 or so, but it's hard to say exactly.

The gold filled bronze has a rich deep color, which is suitable for it's age; this piece is in lovely antique condition. Even though the carving of this charm is quite elegant, she is a simple little metal pendant necklace that would be easy to wear everyday.

No Stamp or date, C clasp closure.
